The Sniper (Cantonese)

I was running some errands yesterday when suddenly I found myself having 2 hours of free time... so what did I do? I went to One Borneo and catch a movie! it has been ages since the last Ive watched one... and the movie that I've selected would be a cantonese movie a new released called 'THE SNIPER'.

The movie actually opened on April 9th this year... gosh such a thriller I tell ya...

Synopsis:

Richie Ren who played Hartman is renowned as the top shooter in the police force. However, he has been hiding some secret past which is not known to many others. His former teammate and brilliant marksman Lincoln played by Huang Xiaoming was jailed due to him accidentally killed a hostage.

However, after he'd been released the only thing in his mind would be revenge and he takes on Hartman and his teammates and the rest of the force, believing that they betrayed him. When a high-security prisoner transfer is sabotaged by an unknown sniper and a high profile convict escapes, young upstart OJ played by Edison Chen, the hot-headed rookie on the team, surprises everyone by accurately replicating the suspects impossible shots. A battle of wits ensues as OJ becomes fascinated with Lincoln's skills yet bound by Hartman's rules.

This movie has been delayed for almost a year due to one of his star scandal - Edison Chen with his infamous photo sex scandal with many well known female artistes.. however managed to be released this year finally.. such a big gamble been taken by the Director Dante Lam...

It has been awhile since the last we heard about Edison Chen after his photos scandal! I dont know if you remembered it ... He even held a press conference in February 2008 announcing his retirement from the industry... and been residing in his hometown Canada ever since. But by the look of the movie things might be looking bright for Edison and the rest of the star as well... people might probably put the scandal episodes behind them and move forward.... No doubt the production took a risk by casting him in the movie but by the look of it... It aint no big deal at all...

I've personally watched the movie and I would rate it as 7/10
Its interesting and the plot is very well organized even though some are not well captured...

It's recommended and it's worth to watch it...
Forget what's happening in one's personal life.... it's the movie that matters!
That's the world of entertainment indeed!!! One do need to learn from their mistakes and move on and public should give a second chance....
